Noob Race Against Time FAQ and Tips
Despite the racing-sounding name, this is really a blocky pixel-art scavenger hunt dressed up with a ticking clock. You're dropped into a forest that's dangerous in a very literal, obstacle-laden sense, and your job is to sweep up every scattered gold piece before the golden key even becomes available. Only once every last piece is collected does the path to the treasure chest actually open up, so there's no shortcutting your way to the ending. The forest itself is compact enough to memorize after a run or two, which turns a slow first attempt into a genuinely fast second one.
Pro-Level Advice
- Sweep the forest in a consistent pattern, like a loop or a grid, instead of chasing gold pieces in whatever order you spot them.
- Memorize where the dangerous obstacles cluster early on, since repeat runs get noticeably faster once you know the layout.
- Don't rush toward the chest before confirming you actually picked up the key; it's an easy piece to miss in a hurry.
- Move in short, deliberate steps near hazards rather than holding a direction and hoping for the best.
- Take note of any dead ends on your first pass so you don't waste time revisiting them later.
Control Scheme
- W, A, S, and D handle all of your movement through the forest in the four cardinal directions.
- There's no jump or sprint key here, so positioning matters more than reflexes.
- Approach obstacles slowly rather than at full speed, giving yourself room to redirect if something's in your path.
- Keep your movement smooth near tight gaps between trees, since jerky direction changes tend to clip you into hazards.
